THANKS for the "Save Enterprise" DVD!

Hey, man...if you're still floating out there on the boards I want to express my deepest thanks for the really, really great "Save Enterprise" DVD you mailed me(as well as other people)from England. It showed up in my morning mail today(the 30th)and I plopped it right into a player. Watched the whole thing and I really enjoyed the fan-made CGI showing the battles between Romulan ships and Starfleet from a conjectural fifth-season/future Romulan War. And the montage of scenes from all the different series and movies set to Picard's Ressikan flute music from "The Inner Light"? Magnificent. Almost made me misty-eyed! The entire package was pretty skilfully edited, and I really enjoyed the multiple TV trailers from British television promoting all those Season One episodes!

Has anyone else gotten their "Save Enterprise" DVD from ChristopherPike yet? If so, I'd love to hear your reactions and opinions about it!

I second that. Great job. Thank you!

Re: To ChristopherPike: THANKS for the "Save Enterprise" DVD!

Same here, thanks! It is some pretty cool stuff!

Re: To ChristopherPike: THANKS for the "Save Enterprise" DVD!

I would like to thank Christopher Pike as well. I received my DVD on June 29th and had only seen one clip before.

Hopefully with the success of the new Trek movie CBS will consider doing Direct to DVD episodes. They already remastered TOS so somewhere in the company there is a interest in Trek, now that the new movie has made over $300 million worldwide someone at CBS might take the next step and revisit Enterprise (and maybe a Titan series?) on DVD.
Thanks again

Did you guys get the round DVD-sized "Save Enterprise" logo sticker in your package, too? I tacked that up on a board in my place and I love its fiery Phoenix design and bright colors.:)

Yes, I received it as well, it is a nice looking design. Maybe if ChristopherPike is successful Enterprise could honor him with a starship Phoenix (NX-03?) that uses his design for the ship's patch.

Re: To ChristopherPike: THANKS for the "Save Enterprise" DVD!

Thanks everyone! I wish I could take credit for the emblem, but I only suggested breaking the star spangled circle with a phoenix (in honor of Cochrane's ship). The final design was brought to life by fellow ENT fan, Joanna Poe over at Trekunited.

Anyhow, I'm glad you liked the videos. Be sure to check out the ROM content too, as I compiled all the old UPN TV spots from the net. As bad as some of them were (compared the "Next Time on..." 1st Season ones I managed to unearth...) I still enjoy seeing them because frankly, ENT didn't even have bad publicity here in the UK.

Sounds great. Makes me wish I was in the UK. If you upload any of this to UTube please let us know. :techman:

I'll look into it and get back to you. Really been meaning to do that. Maybe split it close as possible into 10 minute parts.

Here's a direct link to possibly the best ENT trailers had. A StarTrek.com page done for the 2005/6 Syndicated Run... before stations dropped it in favour of TOS Remastered. They jumbled the order of Season Four up, mixing in Broken Bow, Carbon Creek and Regeneration.

Re: To ChristopherPike: THANKS for the "Save Enterprise" DVD!

startrek.com has (US) previews in the Episodes sections of each show.

Thanks. I had never noticed that. My TOS DVD's have the trailers for each episode but for some reason the ENT DVD's don't.

Thanks for the link. I'll keep my eyes open for possible UTube postings.

Re: To ChristopherPike: THANKS for the "Save Enterprise" DVD!

I knew the Season One episode promos were from British television when I saw "Civilization" spelled with an S. ;)

If...somehow...there's a straight-to-DVD or online revival of ENTERPRISE even if it is just for one single project...I'd like to see this patch design used in the episode/movie as something used by Starfleet or even Enterprise herself.

Well spotted. You know, I'm not sure these were actually shown on TV. I compiled them together from the old video cassette releases but they could've been added to the shows, to make up a 45 minute slot. You can tell by the old analogue quality, even the best DVD compression can't improve it. By the time Season One finished, VHS went the way of the dinosaur and that left only 13 volumes of ENT on the format. Sadly these didn't make the DVD boxset.

As I understand it, the names for future NX ships were going to follow Space Shuttles weren't they? Well, it doesn't matter. I'm sure there must be plenty of those Warp Delta ships or whatever class Intrepid was, left over. One of them can get the Phoenix patch.

Re: To ChristopherPike: THANKS for the "Save Enterprise" DVD!

^

In my Romulan War-era fanfic, the NX-05 is named Avenger in the old British naval style of tough and noble-sounding names for some vessels. It doesn't entirely jibe with Starfleet's M.O. for naming most of its ships but after the Xindi attack some in the admiralty felt different.

Hope you don't mind, but I've edited my name off the title line. I guess I'm not much of a glory seeker, because I prefer discussion about the show to come first. My first reaction was to shrink back into my shell, when I saw a thread aimed at me... Thanks all the same, but I dread being thought of as an egomanic!

Cooleddie, have you posted your Romulan War fan-fic anywhere online? I'd love to read it sometime. I know what you mean about about Avenger being an aggressive sounding name, which doesn't quite fit Starfleet charter for exploration. It's easy to reconcile it for the Imperialistic Mirror Universe. Like you say, maybe the name reflects the time it was chosen. The Xindi attack, or perhaps better one of two ships made to replace the loss of Columbia when the Romulan War started.

Just a quick reminder, as I haven't gotten around to contacting more than a handful of fans... but if anybody else is interested in receiving one of these DVDs full of old campaign videos and trailers for ENT, just send me a PM with an address and I'll be happy to post one. With nearly no weight involved, the postage is something I can cover.

That's okay in regards to your name. No problemo!

I haven't posted any of my fanfic online(YET)...but I might and very, very soon since the Romulan War/NX-05 story was the one I most recently finished. The captain(Jackson "Jack" Greene)is the 22nd century ancestor of my 24th century Galaxy-class Federation captain in many of my much older fanfic stories. I try to maintain continuity even in my own mini-universe.

Another edit. ;)

Sounds great. "Jackson" was originally Archer's first name, wasn't it? Then they switched to Jeffrey, before settling on Jonathan. Good to see a rival Captain get it instead.

Re: To ChristopherPike: THANKS for the "Save Enterprise" DVD!

^ Captain Jeffrey Archer? Oh god! No wonder they changed it!
