Thank you, NASA TV!

and, I guess, Squiggyfm, too, for broadcasting the FIRST International Robotics competition from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. I was able to watch all my son's matches from my own office (when I should have been working!). We'd text each other about them, and it was almost like being there.

So how did he do?

Links to Pictures?

Seriously, one of the times technology is worth all the hassle.

Today was the start of the qualifying rounds. His team is currently seeded 17 out of 87. The rest of the qualifying rounds finish tomorrow morning, and then the elimination rounds culminating in the grand finals.

I don't have any pictures from the competition, but here's their team's homepage.

Best of Luck to your son's team!

I could keep my fingers crossed better if I knew the team name I'm pulling for...if you wish to share the info.

They're Team 931, Perpetual Chaos. They're playing on the Archimedes field. The competition is so big - 300+ teams - that they are running 4 simultaneous sets of competitions. At the end the four winners from each field duke it out for grand champion.

Alas, they made it to the quarter finals, but got knocked out in the second round.

But I am still grateful to NASA TV for giving me the chance to watch them (be sure to tell your bosses, Squiggyfm)!

I'll be glad to do that and thank you for supporting America's space program.
