Terminator 1 or 2: Similar movies?

ReadyAndWilling

Fleet Captain
Hi all, I'm a huge fan of robots. In both Terminator 1 and 2 I really love how the T-800's(Arnold) have a specific mission and everything they do is based around achieving their mission. I loved the scenes in the first Terminator where the T-800 is sitting in his room trying to plan his next move in order to complete his mission. The T-1000 has a mission as well, but I prefer the T-800's because we get to see the world from their perspective and I really enjoyed this facet of both movies. I was also completely infatuated with the episode 'Self Made Man' from the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

I'd love to be able to was wanting to look at some similar movies, or even TV shows, that I could check out that people with similar tastes to mine could recommend.

Thank you!

Edit: I also really appreciated how the T-800's were completely logical. It was as if they said "Okay, here's the goal and now let's go about achieving it."

Westworld (1973). In particular, the climax of the movie very much anticipates the first Terminator movie. You'll see what I mean if you watch it. (No spoilers!)

Alas, the sequel Futureworld is somewhat less interesting.

Holy Crap dude, another thread asking for movie suggestions? Is this all you do?

This.

Dude, seriously, you've got umpteen threads asking for suggestions on movies/shows similar to ones you just watched. Learn to use Google and stop using this board as your personal research team for your entertainment choices.

I give you full credit for this Trekker:

You know what the internet needs? Some sort of mechanism, an "engine" if you will in which you input terms. This "engine" will then "search" for answers for you. Something like that would be great. Maybe there could be on popular one that nearly everyone uses to the point of whatever this mechanism is called just simply gets called by the name of this dominating force.

But, such a thing is left to science fiction, I guess.

Alright, thanks!

By the way, it doesn't have to feature a robot, it could be a cyborg or even something from the show Dark Angel episode called 'Red'.

I seem to recall a Terminator knockoff called Nemesis or something like that. The first and second movie, I think were pretty decent, but, the 3rd and 4th one descended into softcore porn.

I certainly share your opinion of T4, but T3 was nothing but a remake of T2 with the ending reversed. It wasn't bad, it had just been made already 12 years earlier.

And done much better the first time around.

There was a movie in the early 90s called "Eve of Destruction" where Gregory Hines is tasked with stopping a cyborg that looks female.

I watched Westworld 2yrs ago for the first time. Didn't know about this sequel. ***Off to Netflix****

Edit: They don't have it but I did see the IMDB page.

There was also a very short-lived TV series: Beyond Westworld.

As I recall, it wasn't very good.

I believe they are developing Westworld as a series for Showtime. I liked the movie but I think could be even a stronger series.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to Nemesis 3 and 4, not Terminator 3 & 4.

LOL, yea, the 3rd and 4th movie in the knockoff series. I guess I could've phrased it more clearly.

Oh. My mistake.

The only Nemesis movie I've heard of is the last TNG film.

Yea, sorry. I doubt it's actually called Nemesis, but, it seems like it's some synonym of nemesis or some word close to nemesis (or maybe that is incorrect too). It was a female badass, protecting a "special kid" (not her own kid, she picked him up in a kind of ghetto, I believe) from some Cyborg or robot or whatever.
