Tekwar TV Movies on Netflix streaming

The rarely seen four Tekwar movies, which aired in syndication as a part of Universal's weekly Action Pack block, are now available for streaming only at Netflix's Instant Watch service. The movies are not out on dvd in the US, but are in Canada, which is a very big mystery since the weekly series that followed is (NF had copies of the series, but now it's listed as "Save").

If you don't have NF, but have digital cable, look for a channel called Movieplex. MP is part of the Starz Pay channel suite of pay channels and on my local Comcast system, is offered as part of the basic cable package, serving as a free promotional service for Starz' full pay package. Starz has broadcast rights to the 4 films and a streaming agreement with NF thru Starz Play-which is how they are now accessible to NF subscribers. The 1st, Tekwar, was shown (on Movieplex) last week, and Teklord this week. I don't see the 3rd anywhere on the schedule for the upcoming week, but they're bound to turn up sooner or later.

Movieplex's schedule is culled from it's sister Encore branded pay channels,
MoviePlex broadcasts various programming from Encore's theme channels seven days a week with a different channel showcased each day.
The channels shown are:

  • Encore WAM (Sundays)
  • Encore Mystery (Mondays)
  • Encore Drama (Tuesdays and Saturdays)
  • Encore Westerns (Wednesdays)
  • Encore Action (Thursdays)
  • Encore Love (Fridays)

So if your cable company carries Movieplex, keep an eye out for Tekwar and other action/sci fi oriented movies on Thursdays.
