Spoilers Taurus reach in the 2270-80s?

I'm working on an RPG experience for Trek, and I'd like to feature Vanguard's Taurus reach a few decades after the events of the Vanguard series. I haven't finished the series (got as far as Summon the Thunder, Declassified, and Seekers 1, 3, and 4), but I'm curious about what the region could look like within the next two decades.

Was there anything left of the Shedai to find by the time of WoK? I know Starbase 47 base gets destroyed and I'm not afraid of spoilers.

About the only thing I can think of are relations with the Tomol and Anura might advance... not sure if they'd join the Federation or not. The colony on Cantral V may mature into a fully settled planet or member of the Federation. The Tholians and Klingons may have a continued presence in the region, and it seems Pacifica (from TNG) is also in the region (At least according to Memory beta). What else? Any predictions? If Mack and Ward are around, any thoughts to share?

I'm not a mod, so I'll leave the final judgement up to one of them, but this does seem to be getting pretty close to story idea territory.

In theory yes. But in practice, probably not.

I seem to remember that the Shedai are gone after the Vanguard series, and information about them is top secret until Dr. Bashir reveals metagenome information about them to help cure the Andorians, obviously over 100 years later. Memory Beta would probably be a good source of information if you want to look at the information about the novels that came out in the Vanguard series. Also I would look at the Seeker novels that follow. Starfleet does maintain a presence in the area.

As far as making predictions, yeah, I can see how that can get a bit dicey as far as story ideas. Looking for information about past stories is probably ok though. I mean we all talk about past books and things. Not sure where you can look for ideas about predictions though. Maybe in one of the fan production boards?

I think the existence of the Shedai is known publicly (IIRC, Not-Professor Picard mentions them as one of a number of extinct super-empires from history in a lecture in "The Buried Age,") though the details of the meta-genome itself never came out. I mean, it'd be hard to hide the Shedai. They massacred a planet on live TV.
