"Tattoo" Guest Star

While recently watching the Season Two episode, "Tattoo", I was surprised by the identity of the actor who had portrayed the younger Chakotay. His name is Douglas Spain. Five or six years after appearing in this episode, he portrayed Antonio Garcia, one of the Easy Company paratroopers in the HBO miniseries, "Band of Brothers". I also had the pleasure of meeting him in person some three-and-a-half years ago, at Universal Studios' Citywalk.

Chakotay ... is COOL! And I dig "Tattoo," as quite possibly, the best episode devoted to the character. His father was played by an actor who played a Vulcan Admiral in TNG. This episode has layer, upon layer, upon layer of interest and cool trivia. VOYAGER at it's best ...

I don't know if you've ever seen it. But Henry Darrow (Chakotay's father) was in a TV series about Zorro. He played Zorro's father. And Zorro was played by Duncan Regher(?) who played Shakaar on DS9.

How about that? Everybody's done the porridge! Indeed, STAR TREK ends up on every actor's résumé, just about. I must admit that I'm not familiar with Zorro, but after a quick Google search find that a certain Patrice Martinez starred on the show as Victoria Escalante ... and she's quite beautiful! She could've turned me into a fan of the show, most easily.

I was never that into superheroes as a kid ... I really, really hated the flamboyant outfits most of them were made to sport. Eventually, I discovered Batman Returns (movie) and holy shit ... the Artistry, the imagination of it all was quite wonderful. Michael Keaton did seem a bit gaunt, though, wearing black rubber, but it looked like armour of some sort, so it was like a Knight's outfit ... pretty cool! The Hulk was the only comicbook character I ever really cared for. But I digress ...

Henry Darrow was also in a Western series called "High Chaparall" which was a huge success in Scandinavia in the 60's and which has been on re-runs here many times. His character Manolito was very popular and got some cult status for a while, showing up in teen magazines and such.
