I was most impressed by all concerned.

Stayed up too late watching this last night. Very moving and powerful.

Kevin Bacon was outstanding in the role. If the film were released in theatres, he'd be up for and Oscar for sure.

I DVR'ed it, since I had to work Saturday night. Watched it yesterday, and was really impressed with the story, and Kevin Bacon's work. He is startin' to look older, and I totally bought him as a Marine this time, unlike his performance in A Few Good Men.

If ya missed it, HBO on Demand has it listed, so ya don't have to worry about tryin' to catch a repeat.

One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Forget Sean Penn, Bacon deserved an Oscar for this performance if he could have gotten it. It reminded me a little of "Courage Under Fire" another fine movie.

When I was in the Army I was a casualty assistance officer once and it is sad duty. I had to help the widow of a WW II/Korean War veteran. He died of a heart attack and I was assigned to help her navigate her way through the Army's beauracracy. The saddest thing about the whole thing was he had a life insurance policy from 1951 that was only worth $1500.00. He never bothered to get more life insurance and his widow never asked because she was raised to let the man do all the finances.

She ended up moving to California with her daughter because she couldnt afford to live anymore in texas without her husband.

This was a beautiful movie. Bacon really put in a top notch performance.

One thing I wish they could have done more was for non military educated people is just to hammer home what our young men and women are doing.

The scene which stuck out was when Bacon was with the Sgt. on the runway. You see this kid. With more ribbons than Bacon. A sgt, is more highly decorated than a Lt. Col. This is what our generation has been called to do. I think whomever is saying this generation is failing all you need to do is look at the sacrifices these young people have given.

I work with Soldiers here on Ft Knox and most of them have been in Iraq and Afghanistan. Alot of them have purple hearts and bronze stars. My cubicle is in front of a Soldier who got shot by a sniper in Iraq. His arm is scarred up, but he takes it all in stride and is a good guy.

The saddest part of this job is seeing this guys reactions when they hear of buddies they served with dying in Iraq or Afghanistan. They try to "man up" and not let it show, but you can see the pain in their faces.

I love these guys and do all I can for them.

I didn't get a chance to watch the movie until last night. It was a profound experience for me... I can't even find the words. Very powerful. Kevin Bacon's performance was extraordinary.
