Take a closer look at TOS HD-DVD extras and new FX!

Oh, God. Goodbye, arm. Goodbye, leg. I must have this. The interviews and behind-the-scenes footage by themselves make this worth having. Those "Galileo 7" clips looked great.

I like having an arm and leg to stand on and use.
SO
I'll wait.

Ah well, I guess I'll have to wait a few years because Paramount/CBS will have to put it out on Blu-Ray before I pick it up (and yes, I know that they singed a deal - at least Paramount did - where they are now an 'HD-DVD only' studio); but with Blu-Ray sales still outpacing HD-DVD, I think one day, they'll finally come around. I can wait.

I know this is a stupid question, but do HD-DVD's play on normal players (but not with HD quality, of course), or do they only work in an HD player?

It's a hybrid set, so it will play on HD-DVD players AND standard-def DVD units.

The new transfers look beautiful, and I can't wait to see the episodes uncut.

I really want Billy Blackburn's home movies. But there is no way I am going to buy the entire set just to see those. And am I the only one not impressed with the exterior tour of the Enterprise? It looks oh-so-fake.

^^^
Fake? It's a computer game model, not a movie quality model. That wouldn't be technically possible. The thing is just for fun, and personally I think it does look like fun.

Oh god. Star Trek, to buy again.

Jeees.

Looks good though, best set thats gonna available for 6 months until the next box set version.

Id consider buying if they include the original episodes un CGI'd aswell. But paramount will release that edition after 6 months from this version anyway.

I love the 'explore the E' feature though.

^^^
I think the old FX are available as a feature, from what I've read here previously. I can't confirm.

Does the DVD side have the original versions or is it just the remastered versions on DVD instead of HD DVD quality?
