System Lord centric episodes?

Wasn't Lord Yu one of the oldest System Lords? I seem to recall an episode where they said he was several hundred years old...probably the episode where he died.

That never made much sense, considering that Ra and a lot of the others are supposed to be thousands of years old.

Depends on the Jaffa, and the Goa'uld. Some Jaffa believe they're actually gods, some don't.

I think Lord Yu was one of the "best" System Lords, as his Jaffa seemed to genuinely be loyal to him from a respect standpoint rather than fear.

And his First Prime even admitted that he knew he wasn't really a god and that he was getting old and senile, even for a Goa'uld. Also, there was no other System Lord who would have let Teal'c go after capturing him.

i thought this as well, but teal'c meant more than this. releasing teal'c allowed him to kill imotep.

Yes, but the other System Lords would have been so blinded by their delusions of godhood that they wouldn't have been willing to let him go even for pragmatic reasons.

Yu was never said to be several hundred years old - the first mention of Yu the Great, the actual historical person Yu was based on is from the 21st Century BCE, which is basically 4,000 years ago. Several thousand, not several hundred.

5x15 - Summit/5x16 - Last Stand showed all of the System Lords at their super funky space station.

hey guys, i was just wondering if anyone could recommend me some eps where we see a focus on the System Lords - particularly where we see them and their Jaffa interact? i love the way the Jaffa respect them and behave towards them. the whole, "My Lord" thing is awesome.

Why? are you gonna buy those specific eps on iTunes or whatever?

^ That's pretty much what people have been telling you to do. Remember the System Lords were the main arc of the series for the first seven seasons, eight really.

Could you imagine Chronos for example doing the same thing?

The only other System Lord I could ever imagine letting the hated Sho'vah go, whatever the circumstances, was Ba'al.

Ba'al would do it if it suited his purposes, definitely. He didn't care that Teal'c was a Shol'vah, since he had never bought into the whole godhood thing at all.
