^ Yeah, didn't catch that.
according to the Deadline source:2. High Moon - Well, it's not very far out in space, but it's space! Good enough. And Bryan Fuller is EP. Very good enough.
It sounds like Space: 1999 and Bio-Dome (1996) meet Moon (2009)Plot synopsis
Two teenage boys, Marty and Steve, live in a colony on the Moon, "The Bubble", in the year 2068.[2] Exploring outside the dome of "The Bubble" is strictly controlled. The boys grow bored and decide to explore outside the proscribed area in a stolen lunar vehicle, and crash through the moon's surface into a series of underground caverns containing alien life forms, controlled by a single intelligent alien life form. They also meet a man, a missing early lunar settler, who came to the caves years ago, who has become enthralled by the alien. The boys are torn between staying in the caves, within which the alien provides for their needs, and escaping. They eventually escape, but the man decides to stay, having lost any desire beyond communing with the alien.
as I said in another thread:9. The Adjustment Bureau - Didn't like the movie, and trying to make this premise work as an ongoing TV series seems very problematic.
looks like there was a niche needing filled if there was a few crime procedural pilots with similar synopsis. There was a show development like this in 2010 pilot season:
“Murmurs” Sci-Fi time-travel drama by CBS in development
Yeah - I was surprised to realize that only one of the dramas has actually been greenlit, and that's for 2013! Broadcast and some other cable channels are working on their new shows for this coming fall.Syfy development runs very slow. They take forever considering concepts.
That's fairly normal for a pilot-to-series ratio, at least on broadcast. With cable, a lot of times they never announce everything they're considering. Fortunately, there seems to be a fair amount of pretty decent sounding sf/f in development across broadcast and cable. They get very picky about the pilots they shoot, and it seems that only a third of those ever make it to series.
lmao... SyFy, pushing the boundries of Science Fiction?
6. Booster Gold - I'm not big on superhero shows. Cast Ben Browder in the lead, and I'll change my mind fast.
