Syfy (and Stephen King)'s Haven

Hi, all.

I was looking for something to watch on Netflix, and saw the Syfy series Haven suggested/recommended as a 'watch-alike' for Once Upon a Time - which I'd been getting caught up with ahead of this Sunday's Season 3 premiere - and decided to give it a shot.

I've already watched the first season and the first three episodes of Season 2, and am really enjoying it so far, and thought I'd start this thread to offer up my own thoughts on it and as a place to talk about it as a whole.

The series is billed as being 'based on The Colorado Kid', but I'd say that it's more 'inspired by' that book - as well as King's writings in general - than 'based on' it.

It really reminds me of two King works in particular, The Talisman and Black House, as well as the following non-King stories/series:
Wolf Lake
Fringe
Dark Shadows
Vanished
John Doe
Reunion
Point Pleasant

The cast is excellent, with four very strong leads in Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant, Eric Balfour and, in S1, Nicholas Campbell, and a wealth of great supporting characters, and the story has been unfolded/is unfolding at the perfect pace, with some very interesting twists and turns that I honestly didn't see coming, such as Chief Wournos being Troubled and the arrival of the other Audrey Parker.

Speaking of, I was surprised she didn't stick around longer, and would like to see her come back at some point.

I invite and would even encourage other people to offer their own thoughts on the show - spoiler-free (I'm not adverse to spoilers, but would still like to stay as unspoiled as possible and discover the show's mysteries, secrets, and twists on my own) - and to use this thread as a place to talk about the show in general.
