Baseball games are always filled with promotional nights to get people into the seats (bobbleheads, trading cards, posters, lots of giveaways for children), and minor league games tend to go for it with a lot of bizarre and out-there promotional nights.
Well on May 15, the Fresno Grizzlies AAA ballclub will be having Super Duper 80's Night Featuring Billy Zabka. It'll be a tribute to Garbage Pail Kids, 80's music and more, with the Cobra Kai's Johnny Lawrence himself making an appearance.
If you're too young to know who I'm taking about, he was the nemesis in The Karate Kid and has other notible 80's movies to his credit like Just One of the Guys, Back to School and European Vacation.
"When we decided to have an '80s night, and learned that Billy Zabka lived lived in Grass Valley (near Sacramento), it was a natural to try and get him," said Grizzlies' Vice President of Marketing Scott Carter. "He was glad to do it. We asked him if we could recreate a Karate Kid fight scene and have our mascot, Parker, kick him in the face. He said sure."
