It's a planet sim, meaning you sign up for a planet and control just about every aspect of the planet from its economy, relations, military, tech, ect.
I'm Monac IV in the Cardassian Republic. Yes, the Cardassian REPUBLIC. In-game, I actually managed a secesion against the Cardassian Union (Because I was starting democratic movements in the CU) spurring it into a civil war. Now the CU is pretty much dissolved and now lies in 2 different empires, the Cardassian Republic, and the Caardan State Union, the renmants of the Cardassian Union.
If you're interested, give your planet app to Hyalucent. There are still plenty of good planets left.
