1. Kripke is still an active part of the show, has been reading all the scripts, and is slated to direct an episode.

2. Crowley and Castiel will feature in Season 6

3. The season will focus on monsters/creatures.

4. Mitch Pileggi will in fact be featured next season as the Winchesters explore the history of the Campbells.

(Don't really care for anyone to come in here and tell us about how the show is over, has jumped the shark, how much you hate it, etc. Constructive thoughts only please).

I'm cautiously optimistic about a 6th season.

I'm starting to be cautiously optimistic. If they stay small and intimate as promised, it's possible it could work. Exploring the history of their Campbell ancestry is a very good idea, IMO. Keep it character based. You can't "top" getting rid of Lucifer. Don't try. One difference between SPN and Smallville, the brothers are allowed to mature and be grown men, while Clark is forever stuck in pre-Superman mode. SPN isn't pretending that Dean is under 30 years old. They acknowledge it. They acknowledge how changed the two main characters are.

I do like the idea of Season 6 kind of being the denouement to S4's climax/S5's falling action. The cast and crew haven't given me any reason to doubt them. I think this season will turn out fine.

 

[Dream]

I really hope they focus much less on the angels this season. I was getting a very tired of them by the end of season five.
