Supernatural 7x1 "Meet the New Boss" spoiler discussion thread

There shouldn't have been a Season Six (and I say that as someone who enjoyed S6). I love the show, but I'd really rather see it end sooner than later at this point.

So do you guys think there should even be a season eight for Supernatural? The CW really has no shows that do well these days except for TVD and Supernatural.

If it were up to them, they would probably handcuff Jared and Jensen onto the set so they can't escape. :rommie:

How about we let the CW handcuff them to me.

For me it's always do I still enjoy the show. For me I still do. As long as that still happens I am up for more.

I am not a fan of any show staying after I think they have lost the ability to tell entertaining stories.

I mean I loved Heroes and wished it was cancelled after its 2nd year (well really 1st, but there was no way at that point to know it was all down hill from there).

I was checking out the Supernatural ratings topic over at TWOP and read someone demanding the show be canceled and how they would sell thier soul for it to happen. :rommie:

I still enjoy the show a lot and as long as that keeps up, they can go to season 25 or whatever. I do wish there could be a cool-down from the end of the world scenarios and a lot more MOTW stuff. Maybe that'd be awkward, to show Sam and Dean settling into light clean-up mode after a period of apocalypses, but I think they could pull it off.

I guess I miss the times when they went out to investigate things in odd towns rather than having powerful demons hunting them all the time. A mix of the two would be fine also, but I like the idea of a season where all the big bads have been vanquished and Dean and Sam can settle down and have families and go monster hunting on the weekends.

After season five I actually wanted to see more monster of the week, not the world in danger and have the arc be them having to process what they have done and caused to happen.

I agree. The reason I started watching the show to begin with was that it was a MOTW show using American folk tales and urban legends for its source material. I'd be happy to see them return to that, even if only temporarily.
