We're pre-empted by Chicago Bulls Basketball tonight. Supernatural will air Saturday night at 8:00 C.S.T.

So expect a ratings drop with SN losing the third largest market this week.

Damn....... And this episode is so damn good, too. The fast nationals will probably spike depending on how many Nielsen sets tune to the Bulls.

Thankfully it was nowhere as bad as I feared based on what I had heard about it--I mean we weren't talking "Changing Channels" or "Hammer of the Gods" bad but for all the hype of it being a tribute to The X-Files it really didn't deliver barring the well done title credits. The diner scene with Dean and Sam was well done and I enjoyed the "Major Tom"--the song not the actual sequence it was featured in.

Other than that it was more S6 fare and all that entails--a formula with a supernatural plot that isn't great with contrived jeopardy that no one buys involving the guys all while the episode exists to get to the final scene or briefly seed a few future plot points. It wasn't so bad I can sit here and rip it apart but it didn't engage me in a way where I was honestly interested in it or what was going on. In other words it was just "there" which shouldn't be the case when it comes to entertainment in my opinion.

I also really didn't find a lot of the humor that funny--to me it felt very forced--I could envision Ben Edlund sitting there thinking it would seem funny but in my opinion it was just silly and dumb. That kind of humor just doesn't appeal in the slightest to my personal tastes--unfortunately that is the kind of humor SN seems to go for when they attempt these lighter shows.

I'll give it a C-.

This episode was ok, although I wished they saved the Robert Picardo appearance for a different character.

I thought it was a decent episode. Padalecki seems to be having a lot of fun playing Sam-without-a-soul.

Yeah. I agree, though, that he needed a larger role. Maybe they can bring the character back...? It would be nice to get a better sense of how "real magic" (assuming he wasn't just 'blowing smoke') relates to some of the other stuff we've seen.

I wonder if these new supernatural beings were brought in just for the humor, or if they will be used again. Gramps did mention something in an earlier episode about new creatures being seen....

I have no doubt that this is just an introduction to the fey folk. They'll be playing a much larger role in the future, guaranteed. Especially since it was revealed just how powerful their magic is.

Hell, they be the force Crowley is building an army to fight against.

Man if counting salt grains is their achilles heel, I'm not sure if they have a chance. Then again demons can't really touch salt either.

At least he got to beat Sam with a shillelagh. Sam seems to be having fun with being soulless as well, I gotta admit in some ways that would make life easier.

Before the leprechaun reveal I was thinking they should've got "Skinner" to play the role with the whole UFO angle.

I guess I was projecting a humanness on the fairy Dean nuked because I found it kind of disturbing to pop a little naked female. Though I liked the line about how he "pizza rolled Tinkerbell".

Did anyone catch the crack Sam made about the fairy lady's decor? I couldn't make it out.

Well it was ok, which for a humor episode is actually better then average for me as out and out humor takes me out of the universe, unless its presented in manner that allows the over the top nature to be explains (Monster Movie and Tall Tales for example).

Still better then the season opener though.

That episode was a lot of fun.
