Supernatural 5x20 "The Devil You Know"

They really seem to be avoiding a philosophical debate between heaven and hell. The focus is staying with the brothers and their trust/anger issues. That's an interesting choice (completely understandable for the show), but I think the writers might be under-utilizing the larger conceptual issues as well as the Lucifer character. Though, we really won't know for sure until we see the season finale.

I've always wanted to see Whitney from Smallville stabbed in an alleyway aaaaaand low and behold it happened! Death is coming next weeek!

Well, I wanted him stabbed to death for the abortion that was "Flash Gordon".

Just finished watching this ep - I am FINALLY caught up, after a ten episode marathon over the weekend!

I must admit it all feels a bit same-ish after a while and I feel the emphasis on the angels/demons/apocalypse thing has ruined the series. Talked to a couple of people here and they said they long for the "urban myth of the week" thing from the early seasons.

All in all though, the series' comedy eps are amongst its best. I LOVED the convention one with the gay couple and the changing tv shows one - comedy gold!

I normally look at people who want episodic shows over serialized arc shows as something I scrape off the bottom of my shoe, but roll on the end of the world so hopefully we can get back to more episodic shows next year.
