Supernatural 5x15 "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" discussion/spoilerish

Re: Supernatural 5x15 "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" discussion/spoileris

i loved the "it must be thursday" line, also loved the idea of the zombies being normal at first then turning into flesh-eaters, a nice twist.

Re: Supernatural 5x15 "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" discussion/spoileris

Not a bad episode, but c'mon... no "Double Tap!".

Now catch me up with the Four Horsemen.

We saw War in the first episode, played by OG Smokey from Lost.

We met Old Man Femine a couple of episodes back (very cool and interesting design for the character).

Death is being somewhat camera-shy so far, but from Mrs Bobby's discription I can't wait to meet him. Although I wonder if he'll be played by an old friend from the past, maybe Daddy Winchester (?).

But what about the final Horsemen, Pestilence (or Conquest if you wanna go old school), has he popped up yet? Oddly enough, if memory serves, Pesti/Conny is meant to be the First Horseman on the scene, so one would assume he would have popped up by now.

Oh, and where's the Dude from Nazareth in all this. End of the world and all, one would assume he would be a player. Now sure, we've had lots of God talk, but not one single peep about the Man on the Cross? Maybe they're saving him for Season Six, and the rumoured Big Bad Antichrist.

Well, only seven more episodes to go, lets all pray for no more filler episodes... although as I type this, I'm sure that next week wont be a mythology episode.

PS: Got a question for any Bible Thumpers on the board. There's the Antichrist in the end, but I haven't ever heard what a Resurrected Jesus is called. Jesus 2.0? Just wondering. Peace out!

Super Mecha Death Jesus! :D

Anyway, good episode. Freakin' scary, zombies that don't start out as zombies.

Re: Supernatural 5x15 "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" discussion/spoileris

From an earlier thread:

I just caught up on Supernatural, and I have a question.

Lucifer said that there were five things (including himself) that couldn't be killed by the Colt. What do you think are the other four?

One theory already posted:

I got the distinct impression the other four things were the Horseman. Which makes sense especially if you go with the idea that Lucifer just assumed everyone knows it wouldn't work on God himself. Some things just don't need to be said.

My theory is that the five things are:

God
Lucifer
Michael
Gabriel
Raphael

Basically, I'm thinking that the five things are God plus the four archangels who have been introduced/mentioned. Lucifer is an archangel, so it would make sense that his archangel siblings would have similar levels of power (Michael, especially, as he was the one to defeat Lucifer the first time).

Castiel also said that there were only four angels who had talked directly with God, so this would fit in well with Lucifer's quote about the five things (again, assuming that one of the five is God).

I believe there are supposed to be more archangels in scripture, but Castiel has already said that our scriptures are very inaccurate. As an example, Uriel is supposed to be an archangel in many belief circles, but he was Castiel's subordinate in the context of the show (except for a brief period while the other angels were questioning Castiel's judgment). Also, Catholicism often only recognizes archangels Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel (plus Lucifer as a fallen archangel), so the writers have some precedent.

My theory is that the four siblings will all play a role in the series finale. [I'm also assuming that Zacharia is not an archangel. I don't believe it's been mentioned one way or the other, and the closest archangel (pronunciation-wise) is Zarachiel (as mentioned by St. Gregory).]

Perhaps we could remove God from the list and insert Jesus...or are God and Jesus considered somewhat of the same entity...? I'm not Christian, so that part has always been unclear to me. We could also just be dealing with the old testament.

Supposedly Jesus is also "God" as part of the trinity with the Holy Ghost. Unitarian Christians don't agree, though.

Still liking this episode a night later.

Dean and Sam have killed Satan and prevented the apocalypse from happening... but that doesn't prepare them for humanity's greatest threat yet!

SAM: "Oh no. Dean, it's..."

DEAN: "Dawn Ostroff!"

CASTIEL: "Sonofa..."

Season six of Supernatural premieres this September on the CW.

Final ratings for Thursday's ep via Travis Yanan at pifeedback.com
Supernatural
- 2.948 million viewers
- 1.7/3 HH
- 1.2/3 A18-49
- 1.2/4 A18-34
- 1.2/3 W18-34

The good news? After yet another six week break from new episodes, Supernatural gained over 400,000 viewers and a tenth in the adult 18-34 demo. It gained two tenths in the 18-49 demo.

Finals for Feb 12 episode, "My Bloody Valentine"

- 2.513 million viewers
- 1.6/3 HH
- 1.0/3 A18-49
- 1.1/3 A18-34
- 1.2/3 W18-34

The bad news? It gained nothing in the female 18-34 demo, which was scoring in the 1.5 and 1.6 range earlier in the season. The female 18-34 demo is all the CW gives a damn about. Still, a 400,000 viewer gain after a 6 week break is remarkable. Those TNT syndicated reruns in the mornings must be piquing interest.

Well... they have yet to do the shirtless 6-pack episode which targets the female audience....

Don't tease me. Sasha Roiz could guest star for the shirtless episode.
