Summer TV debuts

Temis the Vorta

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Slim pickins as always, the TV people want us to go out and play in the sun instead of watching their drivel, looks like I'll be hitting my Netflix queue. But for what it's worth...

May 26-27 - The Andromeda Strain - hey, it's sci-fi! Only four hours total, how bad it can be?

June 1 - In Plain Sight - new series about a witness protection program - sounds like it's at least worth a look.

June 5 - Fear Itself - horror anthology series.

Aug 25 - Prison Break - the further adventures of the hottest two brothers on TV who don't have superpowers. :D

...the listing continues into the regular fall debuts, check it out if you want to know when Heroes and Chuck will be back.

I hear Andromeda Strain is a snooze-fest. And Temis-Burn Notice. if you aren't watching you are missing the slickest, funniest, coolest thing on summer TV besides Eureka.(You got a start date for that?) S2 of Burn Notice july 11. Repeats on now. USA Network.

Didn't the Andromeda Strain air alread?. At least I vaguely remember having watched it a while ago, wasn't that bad.

OT: Hm, this board is interesting - how did my post snuck in above Temis the Vorta's last post although I wrote it half an hour later?

And you're also listed as the most recent response on the main forum level. :wtf: BBS is being fonky again. (I also did not write this a mere five minutes after my previous post.)

Anyway I was just going to say that Mad Men is due in July, tho AMC hasn't said when. Bad timing, tho - the DVDs for S1 are also due in July and I wanted to catch up before seeing the new season.

Here's a few more items that people may be wondering about, some Summer programming has been bumped because of the strike:

AMC Update: Mad Men is due back in July, but no matter how much I beg, AMC won't release an exact date. Breaking Bad has been renewed, and if I had to guess, I'd say it will premiere in January 2009.

FX Update: Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me and Damages are all returning in 2009 (delayed thanks to the strike). Rescue Me will produce minisodes to tide you over through the summer. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is due back this fall. No word yet on Dirt and The Riches, and they may well not be coming back at all.
I was impressed with S1 of Damages but I'm not sure how much further my interest will be held in S2, since a couple characters who were responsible for keeping me interested will not be returning...

After Lost and BSG wrap up their seasons, I guess it'll be nothing but books and DVDs until Fall. There isn't anything I really watch on TV during the summer.

Besides the show that are coming back (Burn Notice, Eureka) I might also check out In Plain Sight and Flashpoint.

Have you ever read the book? It is the most boring thing ever.

Never read the book, but the A&E movie has killer zombies. I have the sucker on tape, will get around to it eventually...instead, I was distracted by something on the History Channel about Cro-Magnon vs. Neanderthals.

Found some more info on premiere dates for various shows, mostly cable - Entourage, Dexter, Big Love, Damages, Rescue Me, etc.

Okay, we'll have a date for Mad Men by the end of the week. YAY!

January is starting to look awful crowded with Damages now debuting in the new year, not to mention Lost and Dollhouse.

And what is with HBO and a second season of Tell Me You Love Me??? I got hopelessly addicted to the show reviewing the S1 set seemingly eons ago. I need me some more Ally Walker!

Weeds starts June 17th I think, Bullshit starts the same week, and Rose from Doctor Who stars in some porn show that will start after Weeds.

Another vote for Burn Notice. My Boys is another fairly entertaining summer show. And they are back to ruining people's lives with the Moment of Truth :)
