The top one is OPENSTEP 4.2 on my IBM ThinkPad and the bottom one is Rhapsody 5.6 on a Power Mac 8600. Both Mac OS 8 and Rhapsody got their interface elements from Apple's Copland project.

I do have a few systems running Mac OS 8.6, but the closest to Mac OS 8 that I have is my Quadra 950 running 8.1.

In the OS lineage, it goes something like this...

NEXTSTEP -> OPENSTEP -> Rhapsody -> Mac OS X​

But yeah... I'm pretty much the last Rhapsody user on the planet (and have been for the better part of 7 years now). When people are curious about Rhapsody, I'm usually the person they ask.
