3rd Trailer

Sucker Punch Trailer #1

Sucker Punch is an upcoming American action-fantasy film written by Steve Shibuya and Zack Snyder, and directed by Snyder.[1][2] Sucker Punch features an ensemble female cast[3] that includes Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Chung. The film follows a young girl in the 1950s about to be lobotomized as she attempts to escape an asylum with her inmate friends.

Even without all the hot girls, I'd very much be looking forward to this film. Looks like a mix between the Matrix and The Watchmen and I loved both movies.

^
I switched out trailers...maybe you will like the 3rd one better. :p

It looks very interesting. I will wait for the DVD of this but I do think it will be good. Since this is the guy who will be directing the next Superman movie (I really am interested in that) so I want to see more of his work.

The lack of advance reviews worries me. As does word that 18 minutes of footage had to be cut to justify a PG-13 rating. Still, I'm really eager to see it. They've got my money this weekend. :)

I have yet to see a trailer for this movie which makes me want to see it.

Seriously.....what more could you ask for out of a movie, stylized action/fight sequences, genre/sci-fi settings, alternate realities, very cool look/feel, and based on what I know about the story and the director it's bound to not only be great eye candy but thought-provoking material as well........and all that's before you get to the very attractive scantily dressed ladies that'll be front and center for most of the movie.

Unless you're only interest is in chick flicks or "The Smurfs take Manhattan" I'm not sure what else anyone could ask for from a film. ;)

It certainly looks cool in small, bite-sized pieces (and the ladies are certainly hot), but my concern is it's just going to be a bunch of crazy, dreamlike imagery for two hours and not much else.

If he can't keep the story and characters feeling grounded in some small way through all that, I'm probably going to get bored very quickly.

^ True, and the "suckerpunch" is that at the end of the movie is that shes still drooling on the floor of the asylum, instead of actually free.

Yeah, it's kinda like guessing at the ending of Shutter Island. It's really NOT that hard to figure out. lol

Have you ever heard of the expression "Less is more"? Zach Snyder certainly hasn't...

While each of the things you mention are cool by themselves, this approach of throwing everything including the kitchen sink at the screen just reeks of desperation. Plot matters. Seeing cool sh*t happen only matters if it supports the plot. Any many of us have been burned enough to see through this advertising ploy.

If all I want is seeing disjointed cool stuff, I can spend a couple of hours doing google image searching while listening to my favorite movie soundtrack.

But perhaps the movie will be great despite my impression. Until then, it is a rental at best.
