Stupid Almost Royal Question

I'm loving the new BBC show, Almost Royal. I know that Georgie and Poppy are actors playing roles. I get that. It's a COMEDY. My question is do the people who appear with them know they are actors? The people seem genuinely confused/amused by them in their lack of understanding of American and non-aristocratic life.
Anybody know?

They might not be made aware of the deal before filming, but they are probably informed after the fact. Legal and all.

It very quietly has the credits of the two stars on the screen. Also, if you Google it, you can get all the production info.
Since so much of it must be improve, the two are amazingly talented and hilarious. Such wonderful dry presentation.
