Stuff to die for....

Last Saturday a friend and I went downtown (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) to check out some book stores and as well as the Silver Snail on Queen St. E. for collectibles and comics and such.

I saw stuff that made me drool with desire and cursing that I'm poor. I could have spent easily $200 (for SF books) at the Worlds Biggest Book Store (north of the Eaton Centre off Yonge St.), and I could have blown maybe $4000 at the Silver Snail.

I WANT:
- a statuette of a Neal Adams' Batman posed in action. Stunning!
- a '60s TV Batmobile replica. Gimme, gimme, gimme!
- I've finally seen a Master Replicas TOS Enterprise that made my heart ache with longing.
- A gorgeous Master Replicas Millenium Falcon. I WANT it!
- an Art Asylum Communicator. (Okay, I'm going back for that because this one I can afford.)

Sounds neat. Now I want to check that place out, but I'm kind of on a budget myself, so going there might be a form of torture for me -- looking at all the stuff I can't have. Ugh. I know where you're coming from. :sigh:

But I have been meaning to explore downtown Toronto a bit more... maybe a little peak wouldn't hurt -- would it? :vulcan:

Shatner's toupee. All else is irrelevent.

That's not true. I'd settle for one of George Reeves's Supes costumes.

EDIT: Just thought of another one:

Marty's Gibson ES-345 guitar from BTTF.

Interesting note: the 345 didn't come out until '57 and they were never made with the tremolo bridge (so that was a mod). Also, Chuck Berry plays a 335.

The Silver Snail is geek heaven. If you haven't been, you need to. Toronto's SF&F book store, Bakka-Phoenix, is in the neighborhood as well. :)

To the OP, I know exactly how you feel. Experienced it just the other day going into Ottawa's big comic store, but the swag they have isn't nearly as impressive as at the Silver Snail.
