STTE Ent-D Destroyed?

Kords21

I was browsing for STTE stuff on e-bay when I came across a listing for the deflector dish of the ENT-D and it stated that the ship did not survive the demolition. If true and judging by the picutre of the dish, I can only conclude it to be true, that's just sad. It was a beautiful model and it had a good run. Can any STTE experts confirm that it was completely destroyed or this part was damaged and will be replaced?

Holy crap. As the unofficial STTE pimp, I'll ask around. Vernon Wilmer, the unofficial STTE historian, may know.

I have to say, though, that given the size of the D, it would not surprise me. Damn.

holy crap, they couldent have done that, could they?? the workmanship that had gone into that ship. I hope voyager is ok!

Would be rather sad if it did get destroyed. One would think it would be auctioned off, or given to a museum, or whatever, before being destroyed.

I just got a reply back from the seller. Apparently they tried to save it but, if I'm reading between the lines correctly, they essentially dropped it. Apparently, Troi was in charge. :)

That really was the largest and most detailed of the models. Such a shame.

 She'll never live that down!

It is too bad. I guess they'll have to build bigger and better for STTE-A! If they can ever get their act together that is. :klingon:

that is such a shame! why didn't they auction that? i would have gotten it... then later wondered where to put it. was it really that huge or they just didn't care. whoever was in charge of that place didn't know how much more money they could have made by auctioning stuff off. good thing it's moving to a diff place.

It was going to go into storage for the STTE-A (whenever they finally get around to that). It was not intentionally destroyed (or did you just not read my previous post? :) ).

I was just in Vegas this past week, and asked a former STTE cast member about this, and they were unaware that it had been destroyed intentionally or otherwise. As far as they knew, it was taken apart and transported to the warehouse with everything else. Is it possible this Ebay seller simply pulled a 5 finger discount on one piece of it? (A piece that will now need a little repair?)

I'm just telling you what the seller told me. He indicated that he had also worked there from the beginning so he may have been one of the "droppers". Given the size and unweildiness of the ENT-D, I'm inclined to believe him. I suppose we'll find out for sure when the new place opens or a nacelle appears on Ebay.

Could it be the dish from the model that was blown up for Cause and Effect?

At the risk of being snarky, did you not read the thread? The seller had a the dish from the ENT-D model that hung over Star Trek: The Experience until Sept. of last year.
