I'm here now! Doubletree Hotel on N. Atlantic.

Just watched it go up with the guy who was responsible for Hubble...Ed Weiler. Good launch!

Yes, but it was great to hear them call out all those abort landing sites, even though we didn't see the ET sep and pitch. I'm farily certain tha the launch angle was different too, so we were looking at a slightly different view of the shuttle from each camera. Not insignificant for us armachir enthusiasts. :)

Go for Hubble! This rendevous and capture will be really interesting to watch.

Yeah, I'd never heard them mentioned Banjul as a TAL site before. I know it's on the list, even though there is no NASA personnel there (they're only at Zaragoza, Morón and Istres, I believe), but it was pretty cool to hear mission control say things like "Negative Morón, select Banjul".

And I believe that Scott Altman was pretty eager to get his ship airborn too. During the Go/No Go poll the commander is the only crewmember polled, of course, but Altman answered with, "CDR, and entire crew, is go!"

And later his little speech after Mike Leinbach sent Atlantis on her way with, "Good luck, Godspeed and see you back here in about eleven days."

This should be a good mission. Can't wait to see how things go.
