STS-122 launch now scheduled for Feb. 7th

Well, it was originally tentatively scheduled for Jan. 24th, but apparently due to continuing repairs and upcoming scheduled launches of Progress, Soyuz, and now the ESA's ATV, Feb. 7th seems to be the best target date.

Hmmmm... 3pm I see.

I was disappointed that the previous launch didn't go at it's scheduled 2:30AM.

I live about 100 miles south of the Cape and while I can see the day launches just fine, the night launches are SPECTACULAR!

Well, one good thing about an afternoon launch like that is that the crew's work day starts in the wee hours in the morning, with the most important part of the work day happening during daylight hours in the US. So if you're interested in watching the coverage on NASA-TV, it's easier to catch that way. I work in the late afternoon (part-time evening shift), so I can catch most, if not all of the activity before I go to work.
