Strange posters

No, I am not referring to some of our Trekbbs members.

I have referring to someone called Craig who has been leaving strange posters around Melbourne , Australia.

I thought that I might make some even stranger signs and leave them around Hobart. Unfortunately I am not very creative and I can't think of anything to say. Does anyone have any ideas?

That second sign takes some thinking to interpret.

But what does "ONO" mean?

I think that we should come up ideas for several posters and then as many of us as possible should post them up at numerous places around the world at around the same time.

Ah. Kind of figured it was something like that but thought it was a typo for "OBO" (Or Best Offer)

I've always read OBO in the US as "one buyer only", meaning that a lot will not be broken up amongst multiple buyers.

Now I'll have to watch that abbreviation more carefully!

bleh. I've seem similar around L.A.. I dunno how I feel about them... I understand they're supposed to be funny or have a political message (some I've seen are like mini-essays about Carpe Diem type of stuff), but as far as STREET ART goes, it's just plain lazy.

ehh... I'm sure someone out there will say it is. But even from a strictly typographical view, it's ass. From a letter art view, it's ass. From a design view, it's ass.

But comedy is art, as is poetry and written word; especially when filtered under the "poetic license" umbrella... If I were just going to do straight letter stuff, I'd just scrawl with spray paint like David Choe. I feel that visually, it's just so much more effective to find better-suited wall-space and go for it.

It's a cunning plan. I would take the bait, but descreetly, hide in a cafe or something and see if anyone turns up. There's probably something on the Net somewhere about gathering people in your area. You just have to get the right search.
