Storing Trek DVDs

I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this, seemed too low-tech for Sci & Tech. Mods may forward as needed.

As my Trek dvd collection is growing, space is becoming a premium. I've been taking to putting the original cases in the attic, and bulk-storing dvds in plain cases (which for some gives me the fun of designing new box art in Photoshop etc).

Any of you folks do this?

I am looking at taking it up a notch, and looking for cases that hold even more. Are those CD zip booklets safe for dvds? I'm thinking the kind that hold about 20-30 sleeves.

I also found this thing called a Slappa case that holds 90 dvds. Any good?

I wouldn't put my DVDs in sleeves out of fear of warping or somebody sitting on them and crushing them. I don't see how your DVD collection could take up THAT much space, I've got a fairly large collection of boxsets of various shows (including the big old plastic TNG and TOS cases) and 2 cupboards (small ones), the shelf thing on my TV stand and the space on top of the aforementioned cupboards is enough to hold most of it. Just put up a couple of shelves!

Space is at a premium in our house, not a ton of free wall space, and we have a toddler, so I have to be able to lock it up, and there's just one cabinet for dvds. I have quite a few books, so I have to keep the dvds to the one cabinet. And I have quite a few other shows (including all the classic Doctor Who DVDs, which I am pondering downsizing similarly.

These look nice, and they look like books. Maybe.

Be very careful if you put them in the zipper CD booklets. I did that in the college dorms and Army deployments. It is easy for stuff to get caught in the sleeves and scratch up the discs.
