I pre-ordered it! Even though I have the previous Qmx phaser.
According to a poster on the Replica Props Forum who says they are responsible for the new phaser from the movie, the Amazon phaser is just a re-issue of the previous mold but with a coloring scheme that matches the slightly different look of the latest film, but that the barrel swings from stun to kill. The same poster says that the 2014 Qmx release of the StiD phaser will be an exact reproduction of the "hero" version of the phaser, with electronics, and a motorized servo.
That will likley be too rich for my blood, so the repaint it is!

If this was also on Amazon UK I would have this pre-ordered, although the Phaser would be cool its not really worth it to then have a movie I cant watch and have to order a UK copy.

That's pretty neat. 1000s of times better than the clunky cheap playmates one that felt like a toy from the 80s. Love QmX stuff but my bank account doesn't.


I'm in the uk so I doubt ill preorder or even be offered anything as awesome. I'd still be happy with the steelbook bluray with that image of the Enterprise crashing to earth. However, if we get a set with insignia badges like you guys got from best buy in 09 id be happy.

In fact, I havnt seen any preorder news for our edition, so if anyone has seen anything, paste us the link. :techman:

I pre-ordered mine earlier this week. I am appreciative of the fact that they have also included a good looking stand for this to be displayed on.

You should look into it, I think the STID blu-ray is region free and therefore you could play it in the UK.

I know. It's the subsequent lingering temptation I'm worried about. Even just the Trek stuff would be several hundred.

The drive on my laptop is, in fact, bluray. I have used it before, but I try hard to forget it's there.

I know your pain. I've pretty much bought every available Trek Blu-ray outside of Enterprise that's been produced.

Just a shame they aren't releasing it in the UK, seems like us Brits are getting the short straw again. Saying the UK is perhaps the 2nd biggest market outside of the US and Canada.

Looks like the French are getting this set as well as it's listed on amazon.fr

Though it would be nice if amazon.com labelled it as being region free if it is region free. Amazon.co.uk lists the UK release as region free.

To my knowledge, Paramount have never released a region locked BD in any territory. I have several US imports.

UK patrons are safe to order this set from a region lock perspective. However, the size of the packaging probably means you run an increased risk of customs picking it up. If they do, I'd say you're looking at an additional £15-20 charge!

That's very nice, but for me personally i woud love a Br 3D combo of both the new Trek movies released.
