to name a few so my 2008/2009 TV has been pretty good so far...They are always olden goldies like The Sopranos

The quality is still there. It's just that in addition to five network stations, you have TNT, USA, FX, HBO, Showtime, Starz, Sci Fi, PBS and probably a few more I'm forgetting to filter through. But since the network stations are the big ones (you always know where they are and they're also free) and they're prone to running a lot of reality crap, all TV is then judged by their content.

There's plenty of good stuff out there, if you're choosey and paying attention.

And, TVs come with many handy buttons. You might find the "On/Off" button particularly useful.
