So, we know Worf is the character with the most appearances across all of Trek.

But which Starship does, as in number of episodes of movies it appears in?

I couldn't find anything online...



1701 is what I thought at first but we only got 3 seasons of TOS, so i think thos extra 4 seasons Voyager got outnumber it's appearances in the movies, SNW and TAS and it's cameos in Ent, and ds9.

Now I think it might 1701-D. All of tng, generations, and episode of Ds9, Enterprise and Picard...

Does anyone know of a ranking showing each hero ship by number of appearances?

IMO, there's no doubt it's the Enterprise-D.

Definitely the Enterprise-D, with Voyager as the runner-up.

The real question is which ship comes in third place: The 1701 Enterprise or the Defiant?

The NCC-1701 Enterprise appeared in 80 episodes of TOS (including "The Cage" and counting "The Menagerie" as a two-parter), 21 episodes of TAS (it isn't in one of them), three movies, one episode of DS9, one episode of ENT, four (?) episodes of DSC, four Short Treks, and 20 episodes of SNW. That totals out to 130 appearances overall.

130 appearances is the equivalent of five full 26-episode seasons of DS9. The Defiant was in Seasons 3-7 plus First Contact, but it wasn't in every episode. So that knocks it down to below the 1701's total number of appearances.

Depends if you count the TOS and SNW Enterprise as the same ship.

NX-01 might have more screen time than the Defiant - four full(ish) seasons and she was in every episode I believe - 98 in total.

Defiant was there across five seasons but by no means every episode. Memory Alpha counts 62 episodes and First Contact, plus 2 episodes for the Defiant-A, to which we could probably add a couple of episodes of Picard. But the NX-01 matches those.

So I’d say it’s the D out in front, then Voyager, then the original Enterprise*, NX-01 and Defiant.

Disco might eclipse the Defiant after season five, or at least run her close. 55 episodes so far, but she wasn’t in the first two at least.

Just from episode count of TNG and VOY, the Enterprise-D wins first prize. Voyager is second place. Third place is definitely the NX-01... until SNW started.


This is going to sound rather geeky of me, but many years ago, I actually wrote down ALL of the Defiant's appearances. (And the runabouts.)

While it is true the Defiant was in 5 seasons of DS9, she did NOT appear in every episode. (Unless you want to count the theme change for season 4 onward.) Counting times she was used and as the background shots while docked, if memory serves me, I believe she appeared in about 65 episodes, plus FIRST CONTACT. This is NOT counting the renamed Defiant used in "THE DOGS OF WAR" and "WHAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND".

Now, if you count her appearances in the theme, the total is 114 episodes. (10 episodes of season three, 26 for each season afterward.)


So depending on how you view this...
