Starship Down

The recent SNW episode has had people reminiscing about Wrath of Khan, "Balance of Terror" , "Year of Hell" and "Disaster", but the episode I thought about straight away was DS9's "Starship Down". I remember it fondly, it had great special effects for its day and nice character moments between Sisko and Kira, Bashir and Jadzia, Worf and O'Brien. And a guest appearance by James Cromwell too!

I thought the exact same thing. "STARSHIP DOWN" is a favorite DS9 of mine because it utilizes everyone well.

Starship Down has a special place in my heart because they had it playing at a Star Trek exhibition I visited as a kid, and it was probably my first glimpse at a DS9 episode. It made the series look amazing and when I finally got to watch it properly I wasn't let down.

He and Armin really have a good turn together on this episode, probably the highlight, as Quark often was in a feature performance. All the separate struggles within the same battle are paced and edited together perfectly to create a satisfying and complex story. It is a solid above average DS9 episode 8/10
