Here are several starship images that are supposedly to-scale. I thought many on here would enjoy them and it could generate some discussion on Trek's starships.

Which one of these is most accurately to scale? Anyone know?

Just a couple things that jumped out at me when looking at these: Voyager is much smaller than I originally pictured it...I knew that it was quite a bit smaller but these pictures just really reinforce the massive size (in a Starfleet context) of the Enterprise-D. The Galaxy class was a heckuva ship.

Also, the Defiant isn't such the "little ship" it's always portrayed to be. (the charts don't agree on its size either...120m? 150m? 170m?) In any event, yes it's small compared to the others here -- but it's not exactly the Millenium Falcon either.

Trek has a cool line-up of ships...I'm glad someone out there in the innerwebz takes the time to make these....any thoughts or answers?

I always pictured the Olympic-class being much larger than it seems to be in those pictures. I also pictured the Akira-class being smaller.

There are some people who'd say the Galaxy class starship isn't real!

Well, that muddles that infamous debate.

I fail to see the point of this image.

I mean, we all already knew a Galaxy-class could own a Blockade Runner.

The Prometheus class is crazy smaller than I thought it was.

They all look right to me.

I think plynch was joking, SW being Fantasy while ST Science-Fiction...

The Prometheus is basically the Intrepid with a couple extra nacelles.

M-Red, do you have a bigger version of your avatar? It looks cool!

You can find some slight disagreement among those charts, but for the Nebula, it should be 444 m, based on it's width matching that of the Galaxy class, whose dimensions are well established. For Nebula variants, each one should be measured and scaled assuming that established saucer width.

For the Ambassador class, it should be 478.5 m, according to the original drawings. And I don't see the Wells class there, but the popularly accepted 336 m is way off. It's 195 m on the original drawings. For the Defiant, it's debatable.

I'd like to see how some of the small Trek ships size up to Star Wars ships. Have the M_Falcon next to the Klingon Bird of Prey--or rather, running from it.

Does this mean my micro machines aren't to scale? ;)

Ha! When I was a kid I used to bitch all the time about the scale errors of the micro machines, too ignorant to realize why.

    Them's is fightin' words.

I thought the Enterprise E was smaller, I certainly wasn't expecting it to be longer than the Enterprise D. I guess it was in how many decks it has and not necessarily how long it is. S

dont know how I missed this....but thanks :) I like it a lot too...but sorry, I got this from a ST avatar site and didn't bookmark it or anything...just googled Star Trek avatars and found a page with several hundred choices. I think it's one of the first links to come up in a GS.
