Starlog's Star Trek magazines

Trek Survivor

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Hi all. I really enjoy(ed) the Starlog magazines dedicated to each Trek series and was disappointed they finished. I have all the TNG magazines (#1-30) and though I know the DS9 and Voyager ones never made it to the end of those respective shows, I'm not completely sure how many were published in each, and how far they got with the Mission Reports.

So, could some one let me know how many issues of the DS9 series were published (and what was the final Episode Mission Report) and how many from Voyager were printed (and what was the final MR in that as well).

Many thanks!

DS9 went to #25 and "Tears of the Prophets"; Voyager went to #19 but unfortunately, I don't know what the Mission Reports were, but it ends at some point in Season 4 (possibly "Hope and Fear"?).

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply, just what I was looking for. Such a shame they weren't allowed to continue, I thought they were really good - I'm guessing they were cancelled due to poor sales.

On a somewhat related note, and one more for the UK fans, does anyone know what happened to Visual Imagination's Star Trek Voyager: Official Poster Magazines series? It was heavily promoted/advertised at the tail end of the TNG Poster Mag, and the Generations tie-in mini series (early 1995) but just never appeared...? Last minute nerves?? Couldn't find anything on the net, but I'm guessing the first few issues must have been ready to print...?

I'm sure PaulSimpson or someone else could shed some light on this but the only poster magazine for Trek that was in the UK was one for DS9 made by Titan and lasted a few months that concentrated on the forth season.

Reflecting the gradual decline in viewer numbers and the rise of free online resources.

No, that's wrong - as I said, Visual Imagination published a Star Trek: The Next Generation one from 1991-1995, and a 4-part Star Trek: Generations one in Feb 1995.

Titan produced a 3-part First Contact one, and a DS9 one which, as you said, lasted only circa 15 issues and concentrated on the then-new 4th season eps.

I bought a few of the very first TNG ones. I remember they had short condensed story version of the episodes. A few good articles here and there. I remember one about one of the extras they called "Ensign Youngblood" that I could never actually find in any 1st season episodes!

I never knew such a thing had been in the pipeline, but then again, I didn't keep up with collecting the TNGPM. Possibly connected to Titan getting the license for Star Trek Monthly?

Very good point. First ish of STM was cover dated March 1995 (it's almost been fifteen years! Unbelievable!). Must've been it.

As you can probably tell, I'm a big fan of ST magazines/comics. I still have all my beloved issues of Marvel's ST:TNG comic/magazine (remember how much letters page furore there was over what to call it, and the Mission Reports!!) and enjoy going through them every now and again to remind me of being 11 years old and a simpler, innocent, less cluttered age in Trek history.
