You didn't watch DS9, right?

You mean you want Star Trek games to be more like Stargate games? Fair enough, I know nothing about either.

Star Trek is vastly superior to Stargate in all other ways, tho.

Erm, why can't multiple species be in Starfleet? It's the Federation Starfleet, not the Human Starfleet. The UFP encompases 150 Member States, with multiple species in it -- Humans, Vulcans, Andorians, Tellarites, Betazoids, Bolians, Trill, Ullians, Etc.

There is (was?) a Star Trek Online video game in production. I haven't read anything about it lately, but the game was still in production despite the developer having serious financial and legal woes. I'm sure you'll be able to play as non-Starfleet aliens in it, should it ever be released.

Not in its degree of McKay screen time.

I think Star Wars Galaxies was the best MMORPG until SOE screwed it up. I'm assuming that's what you are saying by MOO? And the fact that the upcoming Star Trek Online game is going to be Starfleet only, atleast until an expansion comes out - which I admit is lame. Star Wars Galaxies has many species, and two factions - not to mention various theme parks that were fun to do. Although I admit it was a bit silly seeing Wookies in the Empire, but to each their own.

I would like a vast Star Trek MMORPG, but I've given up long ago on a Trek game delivering the goods. As for StarGate, I never really got into it.

no.. in STonline u can only be a starfleet player not a romulan or a borgs..

but in Stargate Worlds u can be an SGC player (which is like the nowen days version of starfleet..) and also enemies like the Gold and Jafar

Yeah, but you do get the option of being Human, Andorian, Tellerite, Trill, Bajoran, Klingon, Vulcan, Cardassian, or Trill (the article I consulted on Memoru Alpha claims you can even work twoards getting joined), and you get the option of being in three departments Science, Tactical/Security and Engineering. That sounds like plenty of diverse options to me. :bolian: (They can get away with all of the different races because the game takes place 20 years after Nemisis)

Yeah, but the whole point of the game is that you can actually be a Starfleet Officer, who went to Academy, works on a Fed. Ship, and goes on away missions. At least that's the game's main appeal for me, and, I have a feeling, many other Trek fans.

Not to mention that in in Stargate, most of the races in the galaxy are human. The Asgard, the Wraith, and the Replicators are the only major non-human players, and seriously, who wants to be a Roswell Grey or a robotic spider?

That leaves the Tau'ri, the Jaffa, the Ancients (all forms of humans), the Asurans (human-form), and the Goa'uld (worms in human bodies).

Star Trek, especially the Federation, has a much greater diversity in terms of alien life than Stargate does, which makes sense based on what we know of the history of the Stargate universe. You have to include all of the different Stargate factions to have a fresh and enjoyable game, whereas Star Trek only really needs the Federation.

to be honestly.. its not what race or species you are.. its the fact u have to be in starfleet..

u cant just carve out ur own empire like in other MOO games?
