So, a few weeks ago, while at Blockbuster, I saw that they had the 15th anniversary edition of Stargate on blu-ray.
At the time, I was still just thinkin' about upgradin' to blu-ray, so I made a mental note to get the disc if I got the player.
Well, this past Saturday, a new sixty inch flatscreen tv and blu ray player were delivered to my apartment. Saturday evenin', I went back by the Blockbuster (one of the few here in Austin still sellin' new blu ray discs, by the way) and picked up Stargate. This is an upgrade for me, since I've had the two-disc "ultimate edition director's cut" DVD on my shelf for awhile now.
The blu has the same special features as the two-disc DVD, plus three more featurettes, a gag real, an interactive trivia challenge, and a picture-in-picture ultimate knowledge bonus view.
Takes up less shelf space, too!
Without openin' it up yet, I'd say my main complaint is that they added "THE MOVIE" under Stargate, as if that's necessary when ya have Kurt Russell and James Spader named above the title. The tagline is changed, too. Instead of the old one, it says, "The Film that Unlocked a Universe".
I think I'll open it up, watch it when I get back from dinner...
