we are only missing a small amount from sg-1 and atlantis which is awesome news. I just wish they would get around to put the bill mccay novels on there, I so want to read those.

I remember reading one of Bill McCay's 'Stargate' books back in the day, before I'd ever seen any of SG-1 and found it to be a fairly entertaining take on the premise. I barely remember it, though, and I didn't get around to reading any of the sequels.

...I wonder if I still have it...

His were so much better than the SG1 novels (Ashley McConnell, I believe her name was ... she's a terrible writer, no matter what tie-in universe she's desecrating) that followed.

His first book ... Rebellion? I 'm thinking ... was based on the notes for the second StarGate movie. I don't remember if it was just an outline, or if they had a full script. Either way, it was where Emmerich and Devlin were going to go with the second movie. His subsequent four books moved the storyline forward, introducing other gods (Hathor for one was delightful) and re-imagining some of the characters.

If I remember right, Dr. Barbara Shore when from a middle-aged brunette woman with short hair to a 20something blond with legs up to here and bosoms that wouldn't quit.

And we have a third name for Jack's son. That one always amused me. They do a close-up in his bedroom showing the son's name clearly yet he becomes Charlie in the tv series and has another name in the books.

If it helps, think of the books as one of many alternate realities, as seen in There But For the Grace or the Frasier Returns episodes.

Maybe Jack's kid is the way we can keep track of the different timelines. Each different line gets a new kid's name.

I know. I'm just saying once it's out there in digital form it's pretty much available for anybody and not just the Nook.

Well it took them along time for them to put it on the nook and they have had them on the kindle since they first came to eform.

Re: stargate sg-1, atlantis & universe novels finally aviable on the n

I have both a Kindle 3, and an iPad with the Kindle app on it. I've purchased the ebooks that are available for the various Stargate series. I'd love to have seen a few more books in the Stargate Universe series come through just to see if a written story might prove good enough to warrant keeping it going. SGU I thought had a good idea, they just spent far too much time on character problems and not enough time on action based plots I thought. (just my own opinion and of no monetary value whatsoever)

The biggest wish I have regarding the books is that they would come out on time more often, there have been several of the SG-1 books I know which had their release dates pushed back. Patience is a virtue which I struggle with.. *wink

Edited to add: And I heartily agree, I would LOVE to have Bill McCay's 'Stargate' novels in proper ebook form to add to the collection. I have them as paperbacks, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy a digital version as well.
