Starfleet Battles novelization

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but has there ever been a novelization of Starfleet Battles/ Federation Commander? Maybe a collection of short stories? Is there any interest in one?

One of the computer games' handbooks, Bernie Yee's "Judgment Rites" (1994), contained eight short TOS stories, but it wasn't for "Star Fleet Battles"/"Federation Commander". Similarly, the Interplay CD-ROM game, "Starfleet Academy" was novelized, as was "Star Trek: Klingon". "Star Trek: Klingon" and "Star Trek: Borg" had audio editions.

I believe at one point, the creators of "Star Fleet Battles"/"Federation Commander" sought clarification as to the possibility of them doing licensed original fiction set in their unique version of the ST universe, but nothing ever materialized.

In a barely related way, back in the 80s I always wanted there to be Trek novels with covers like the old FASA role playing games' covers. I like that style.

Well, there's this one:

It's only been made available in very limited numbers as sort of a prototype, I believe, but they're still listing it as available for ordering. It's a trade paperback collection of Klingon-themed stories, and I think they're all reprints from various SFB publications. The next volume is supposed to be a collection of Romulan stories, but I haven't seen any news about that in some time.
