I just watched STARCRASH for the first time. Wow. It was horribl....y cool.

I love the use of color in the movie.

Not sure how Fox could've sued Universal for copyright infringement over Battlestar Galactica but left Starcrash alone.

Oooooh I LOVES "Planet Of The Vampires"!!! I picked it up on a whim years ago on VHS, was happy the day I found it on DVD....I even picked up another copy a few years later for back up. It's got all the cool stuff I remember from watching low budget sci-fi movies on Science Fiction Theatre on the local UHF channels on Fridays and Saturday nights in the 70's. Plus the guy that talks for Speed Racer is in it.

I also picked up Star Crash, a movie I actually saw in the theatre back in the day. Hey, there wasn't a lot of sci-fi in the 70's, until after Star Wars...then we had quite a few movies....too bad most of them were low budget wannabe flicks. I didn't care much for this flick even as a kid....but it had colorful stars, a Dr. Who looking guy with a sorta light saber and a chick in a bikini. For those of us with imagination, it wasn't much, but some of the imagery was enough.

Sadly, I couldn't sit through the whole movie when I got the DVD....perhaps it just requires being in the right mood for it. Will give it another try soon.

P.S.
Mr. Adventure...what is your avatar? I've always liked it, did you the artwork for it or is it from something?

I consistently list this as one of the worst movies ever made. Inconsistent plot points, horrible acting, SUPERcheap effects.

The only saving grace about this movie was, when I saw it in the theater, two guys were doing a MST3K on it. In the theater. Out loud. And no one minded.

Saw this movie when it came out. For free. And was almost sad that I hadn't paid for it, because it meant I couldn't ask for my money back. Literally the worst movie I've ever seen. My own fault really: I went to the theater knowing Marjoe Gortner was one of the leads in the film, which should have been a dead giveaway that awfulness was in the offing.

Now, years later, I imagine that its horrible-ness may have taken on a "Plan 9" sort of quaint so-bad-its-good vibe, but I'm not sure that it's worth the risk to find out.

Personally, I can't stand this film. (I saw it back in the day when some places still had a 'double feature', and it was paired with 'MoonRaker'.

WORST science fiction film made, across the board. Even the 1960 era Italian science Fiction flicks with the small gas jet 'rockets' on the models are better than this Italian garbage film.

The tag line in the trailer SHOULD have read - "You are about to Hurl!" ;)

Hmmmm...Is the Trailer misleading? Reminds me of A Hardware Wars or Spaceballs or maybe even Ice Pirates with Robert Urich. I've seen far worse Italian movies (Can't think of any SciFi that I've seen that doesn't have some kind of charm to it) from the 1960s and 1970s.

When I saw it, it was paired with "Rabbit Test"--or was it "Capricorn One"? Both bad moves: One was Billy Crystal as the first pregnant man, the other starred OJ Simpson (fake Mars landing).

Lol @ the trailer. At least they included Kang, or maybe it was Kodos. Hard to tell. ;) :D

I just ordered this & 3 other (terrible) Roger Corman Cult Classic blu-rays from Amazon.

StarCrash
Galaxy Of Terror (which is the one I've been after for years)
Forbidden World
Humanoids From The Deep

I wish Vampirella would get released on blu-ray, so I can see that awful mess in full HD quality ;)
