Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - Teaser Trailer

I think you should have kept the title out of the thread title to keep the surprise.

Even the official youtube channel's upload only called it 'Episode IX' and let the trailer itself give the title.

Are we seriously claiming the title is a spoiler now? Sweet shit, it's nonsense like this that illustrates fandoms can go too far when it comes to protecting spoilers.

Everyone's going to know it's called The Rise of Skywalker when they go to the theatres in December. The entire Star Wars fandom likely already knows that's the title. But no, let's whine because we know something we didn't know yesterday. Why, Disney? Why couldn't you let us wallow in ignorance? Our lives are ruined now that we know this title. Oh, whoa is me!

Overreacting much?

Star Wars, under Disney's control, has been more miss than hit. After the abysmal second film in this trilogy, I have lowered my expectations for the final installment.

I watched the trailer. It's okay.

Looks like lots of fun to me. I trust Abrams to make it into a good movie. Noticed they got another new interesting looking droid in the film. My theory is the Skywalker will be a child and Rey has to protect the child or train him or her as a Jedi Master. She needs force ghost Luke's help which would have been Leia if Fisher hadn't passed on.

If you like TFA and hated TLJ, you probably should be pretty happy with this...

Says the one who claims a title is a spoiler.
I never said it was a spoiler.
I just thought it would have been nice to keep the surprise for the end.

Endgame apparently did it as well for the first couple days, and then they added the title after.

If this is the end of the saga, does that exclude or leave room for future sequels?
It's specifically the end of the "Skywalker Saga".

I would rather not see Palpatine return in any form, as it would pretty much make Vader's ROTJ attack lose half of its meaning (yes, part of it was Vader's redemption/balancing the Force, but killing the evil behind it all was as much an important part).

Fun.

Despite some minor flaws, this new trilogy is just loads of fun, which is how the originals played. The prequels, which have been analyzed to death, failed to resonate with me for that one simple reason: they weren't fun. No magic.

This new set of films has the old magic.

Everything else is massively secondary.

Looking forward to this!
