Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2x16 Cat and Mouse

i did wonder if it was set before the movie...

re: blockades on only one plane...

presumably this is to do with gravitic distortions and mass shadows which hamper the entry and exit to hyperspace and which can, depending on the relative positions of planets, moons and other large objects, make a system either wide open or very closed down to jumping in.

I liked the idea of a giant spider-type general, so I was mildly disappointed that he died in the end because he was the sort of villain I'd like to see recur (but then, no body, I wouldn't be surprised if a contrived method is used to bring him back.) The scene with Anakin and Yularen building up how badass he is was nicely staged and lit.

And yeah, the music is very Horner-ish, but then this capital ship versus capital ship combat in space does make me think more of Star Trek then Star Wars (not a fighter in sight.)

Just as a reminder, those of us in the UK with a Sky Movies subscription can see episodes ahead of the US on Sky Movies Premiere.
Yep. We just got the Seven Samurai episode, which began with a tribute to Akira Kurosawa (it's a pity the Notorious episode didn't do the same for Alfred Hitchcock, in retrospect.)

There could be more of them in the future.
