Star Wars Novel questions?

Taking a break from Trek Lit till the new VOY valve comes out and just hade a few SW novels questions.

1. Threat from outside the Galaxy? Multiple novels make reference to the emperor preparing for a threat from far away dark force. Was this the SS-Rukk or something I haven't come across yet?

2. Outbound Flight: Are there any novels that deal with the survivors of that novel?

3. Any novels that feature what Obiwon is doing between 3-4?

Yes they are, they are fairly mature despite the way they were cathegorised.

Now i have a question.

Is Mercy kill enjoyable for someone who dislikes both LOTF and FOTJ? From what i get from the reviews it mght be.

There were so many other things they could had done. Hunting Tyber Zann or there are plenty of other battles with the Imperial Remnant
