At D23 today, they unveiled a detailed model of what the new Star Wars Land addition will look like. http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...7-photos---star-wars-land-model-in-detail.htm Just a whole lot of wow.
The link you provided tells us that the Star Wars attraction will be arriving at Disneyland in California in 2019, not Disney World in Florida. But Disney World is coming soon. http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...s-part-of-new-disney-360-vacation-concept.htm
Well that's even closer for my purposes. Getting a wife and children would make it more interesting I think.
So . . . they have buildings, restaurants and attractions to emphasize the entire saga and not just a selection of films?
I wish Disney would expand into the Kennedy Space Center. I want to see replica's of all the worlds rockets--and this brought to life full scale: http://www.oldmodelkits.com/jpegs/h/Glencoe 05908 3StFervg++.JPG
Yes, rather than recreating scenes from one or more of the films, they're creating a whole new planet where you have your own Star Wars adventure.
I doubt that I would be going. The prices for the Disney parks are becoming ridiculously high. The security has become ridiculous. I haven't been to one in nearly 1.5 years. And the Disney suits are making changes to the parks that I don't particularly care for.
I always love seeing the imagination that goes in to these projects. While I will not be going, I do look forward to all of the incredibly design work.
They're also doing a Star War hotel that will be a completely immersive experience. From the moment you enter the hotel everything will be done as if you were in the Star Wars universe, they're even making the rooms look like they're looking out into space.
