Star Trek's Daleks and Thals?

I read this comic (From Marvel's post-TMP comics), and the story does seem very similar to the original Dalek story. Not exactly of course, but the genetically enhanced guys vs. machine beings kind of feels very similar. Plus the Mog dialogue is very Dalekesque (Alert!Alert!)...

Anybody else read this old Trek comic and notice this?

Well except that the Mox were the good guys unlike the Daleks.
