I just saw that, and I'm like 'yeah, that could work'. I hope Bob Orci is brushing up on his TAS.

But really, Nurse Chapel will probably pop up in one of the later movies, and she did have that thing for Spock. And since Spock is with Uhura at the moment, it could be interesting.

I think if Spock is going to be in a love triangle, it would make more sense for his Vulcan fiance T'Pring to be the other part. It would bring both sides of him into conflict, his human and Vulcan side.
