Just heard there will be a sneak peek of Star Trek XI during Heroes tomorrow. Any word what it will be (scenes from the new trailer, new scenes?)

It might be SylarSpock cutting open crew member's heads on the bridge of the nuEnterprise. ;)

Thanks to Quinto playing Spock, I'll never think of the term "mind meld" the same way again. :p

Re: Star Trek XI "sneak peek" during 'Heroes'?

Just saw the trek trailer on Heroes!

Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

So they just ran the entire trailer during Heroes on NBC.

And the announcer said "And now, a sneak peek at 'Star Trek: The Future', coming to theaters May 8th"

:wtf:

Is this an official title now?

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

Nope. Probably just the announcer or the station's own embellishment.

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

I heard the announcer say that, too. Why would the announcer offer his own embellishment like that?

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

Well, without hearing it, they are giving you a peek into the future of the franchise - hence Star Trek - The Future.

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

I didn't hear it, but maybe he said, "And now, a sneak peek at 'Star Trek'- The future coming to theaters May 8th".

You know, kind of like how Abrams said the "Under Construction" in the teaser trailer didn't refer just to the Enterprise or the movie, but the future itself, with Star Trek being our future, currently under construction.

Maybe we Trekkies have just gotten too used to semicolons. :p

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

This reminds me of something I read ealier this week. Germany's biggest cinema company Cinemaxx advertises Star Trek as Star Trek 11 in their program flyer. In my opinion that undermines every attempt by Abrams to appeal to a broader audience. Now it reads as if it's just another one of these Star Track movies. I don't get why they're doing this.

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

My guess would be that he meant, "And now, a sneak peek at 'Star Trek", the future coming to theaters May 8th."

Or maybe you misheard and he said "...the future's coming to theaters May 8th."

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be "Star Trek" followed by the tagline "The future begins, in theaters May 8." It sounded like the announcer misread this as "Star Trek: The Future. Begins in theaters May 8." Possibly he wasn't familiar with the movie and assumed in must have a title other than just Star Trek?

Because everyone in Germany sees the new Star Trek movie on opening night anyway.

Really, they could cobble together outtakes from "These Are The Voyages" and score it with music from "The Benny Hill Show" and everyone in Germany would buy a ticket as long as it's called "Star Trek." Basically because they don't make "Perry Rhodan" movies any more. ;)
