Star Trek Toys at Toys 'R Us!!

At work tonight I actually saw some Star Trek toys tonight, I'm so happy!

I think the last time I saw any Star Trek toys in a store was when Star Trek:Enterprise came out.

The figures looked like for ST:TMP, all I saw were Kirk & Spock. And, of course, it's the real versions (Shatner & Nimoy ) Not the campy versions we'll have soon (if you catch my meaning ). I doubt if I'll buy any, but this satisfied me tonight. I got so tired of seeing Star Wars toys there day in and day out and kept wondering if we were going to get any Star Trek stuff. I'm assuming it as to do with the upcoming movie, though which is fine by me. Let's see if we'll be seeing the Starship Enterprise soon. And, I'm curious as how they are going to sell...

I don't know if this was the case with you, but Diamond Select and Art Asylum recently put out a TMP two-pack of Kirk and Spock. Your store might be anticipating the crush for the new movie by carrying some of the ones now being prepared.At least, that's what I'm hoping.

DUDE! It's the AA/DS versions! They are awesome! Were they old and on clearance (because they were at Star Trek: The Experience a year ago) or were they newly stocked?

It's win/win wither way.

They were newly stocked and not on clearance... I dunno how long they've been up on the shelf, yesterday was my first day back in a couple of days. Hours were cut a bit after the holidays

Not at all. If anything, the fact that Trek toys are suddenly appearing might be a good sign that the store believes people are going to be looking for Star Trek toys and figures and they want to have it available for the people who'll be searching for them.

Why would a kid want figurines of Shatner and Nimoy from TMP? "Hey, figurines from a movie that came out 20 years before I was born!"

Or maybe some 10-year old will exclaim "Hey, it's that guy from my favorite TV show, Boston Legal!"

Yep..we saw them too..We got the phaser and the Kirk/Spock Amok time set....but no ships as far as I could tell...
