Star Trek TNG Blu-ray box set £79.99

Thanks so much!

I've been keeping my eye on Amazon for a while, this is literally half price. Just brought.

These are region free. So, depending on the shipping rate, this might be worth it for US customers too. The US release of the complete series on blu ray is going for about $260 to $280, while £75 GBP is approximately $115 USD (as of today).

I have occasionally ordered blu rays and DVDs from overseas including Amazon UK with no problems, usually when I wanted something that didn't have a US release, or if it was cheaper to get the overseas release. Maybe something this big would get slapped with a customs fee, though.

I do find it weird that the Enterprise Blu-ray's seem to be holding their value better than TNG. At least on Amazon.

Not a bad price, and sure if you wait longer you might come down in price further. But how much a fiver, tenner?

To be honest, I'd have that now if I hadn't dived in with the individual sets. I doubt it will get much cheaper, if at all, and certainly not enough to risk it.

Ordered - thanks for the heads up !

I've had a target price of £75 for TNG Blurays and £45 for Voyager and DS9 DVD sets.

Have now picked up Voyager and TNG this year, plus TAS DVD's for £10.

DS9, Enterprise and TOS to go...

I must say I don't like the big bright age certificate labels on the front of all UK home video releases. Some box sets are meant to display on your shelf, so that kind of ruins the effect (unless it's a sticker than can be peeled off?)

On US/Canada releases, the rating is placed discreetly on the back.

Has anyone ordered this set and had it delivered? I'm in the U.S. and ordered it on November 7. It was supposed to be dispatched on the 10th and according to the website, it has not even been picked out of the stock room yet....

I'm concerned about zavvi's reliability....Any pro or con reviews anyone care to share?

Zavvi are okay, used them a couple of times in the UK (It's not the Zavvi that used to be Virgin Megastore on the High Street, they went bust and the name was bought out by the Hut e-tailer group and they're online only).

They're slow as anything though. It's only been six days, and on top of that this is one popular sale. Be wary, they have on occasion oversubscribed on sale items and had to cancel orders before.

I've used them a few times and never had any issues.

I have tended to order newer stuff that they seem to have plenty of though. As The Laughing Vulcan mentions, they can be a little slow sometimes.

I don't see where that specifically says the rating has to be on the front label, and not just on the back. But I'm sure that's somewhere in the minutiae of the law.

I ordered both the S6 and S7 boxsets this week, and they both came quickly. They're clearly having some stock issues though, because things keep going in and out of stock (it is now showing the ST:TNG Complete set as in stock, though back up to £118, after not having been available for a week).

Now the bad news... Zavvi use a company called The Hut as their fulfilment centre, as do a number of other UK online retailers. This means that effectively for all Zavvi are the store you order from, your order is processed and sent by The Hut. And they are notoriously unreliable - the only thing I ordered from them before this was something quite cheap, and it never came. Just kept being told it'd be back in a stock 'in a week or two'. It never was. I did get my money back fine though.

I would keep waiting though. Presumably you aren't desperate for the set - you've waited long enough. Once they get enough in stock, you will get it, at the price you paid for it. And you probably won't see such a good price again.
