On Facebook there's a - in my opinion - serious attempt underway to get a new TV series started. Under http://www.facebook.com/StarTrekTitan?sk=wall, you can take a first look at the effort people are putting forth, sign a petition and at http://www.youtube.com/user/StarTrekTitan you can watch a short teaser about it. One of the supporters is a certain Jonathan Frakes, who'd act as main character and is fond of the idea.
However, this can only come true if fans participate. If you like the idea, support it.
