Star Trek, the Next Reboot

I know this is a rather presumptuous, if not outright silly question, but if you were going to re-imagine TNG, what would your cast look like?

I don't know but I'd portray the Ferengi more as The Weyland-Yutani Company from the Alien series.

Data is still a robot, but he "looks like us now". Also, he gets pregnant regularly and other characters act like it's normal.

The skirts men wore in the pilot would be standard issue.

It would make Riker's crotch scenes all the more disturbing.

Captain Guinevere Picard--Commander
Commander Jackson LaForge--Exec
Commander Data (female)--Science officer
Lt. Commander Bethany Crusher--Doctor
Lt. Commander Diana Troi--Counselor
Lt. Commander Bill Riker--Engineer
Lieutenant Worf--Security
Lieutenant Natalie Yar--Conn
Kathryn Picard--Annoying captain's daughter

Nevermind. As I stated in another post, I feel the attitude of posters at TrekToday changing. I guess the day of TOT (The Original Trekkie) has past.

It has been awhile since I've visited this site. I have been a member since 2003, and a Trekkie since the early Seventies. But things have changed. Gone is the feeling of camaraderie and fellowship I felt before, replaced by snideness and sarcasm.

This will be my last post at this site. Farewell, and please try not to damage the legacy of what Trek stood for too much. Mr. Roddenberry deserves as much :)

I already figured this out in the Gen Trek thread.

Picard - Wentworth Miller
Data - Alan Tudyk
Tasha Yar* - Katee Sackhoff
Worf - Christopher Judge
Troi - Carla Gugino
Geordi - Harold Perrineau
Bev Crusher - Cynthia Watros (dye her hair red)
Wesley Crusher - Carter Jenkins

No need to change anything fundamental about the premise, just recast the characters with actors young enough to have a long shelf life, and embark on all new adventures. I'd love to see the TNG characters dealing with the post-Dominion-War environment. The stories would be more serialized and "relevant" a la DS9 but not to the extreme of BSG in terms of being "dark and gritty" - that's just not Star Trek.

I've been here since the 20th Century. It's always been Sarcasm Central. :rommie: That's why I love yall!

*Either she was never "really" dead or she's Tasha from another timeline or she's Sela in disguise. There are all sorts of ways to resurrect her.

Also, he's asian, female, and hot? Perhaps she had suicidal tendencies from not knowing she's a cy...android.

Farewell, Captain, and may you find your sense of humor, somewhere out there, among the stars...

Nerds have always had a viciously sarcastic streak. Look at the stereotype of the Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons.
